Fairkytes ran their first two Para Arts sessions in the summer holidays of 2017. The sessions were well attended and thoroughly enjoyed by all present
In terms of the activities, they are spread out across two rooms within the one building. Room one contains the arts activities, which include clay modelling, painting and drawing, all of which are overseen by a wonderful art teacher. Room two is used to accommodate the music session, which is run by a fantastic music in therapy group called TIME.
The session is informal, allowing attendants to do as little or as much of each activity as they wish. Parents/ carers are asked to stay throughout the session.
The venue has a disabled toilet and is wheelchair friendly.
Here are some quotes, taken from feedback from parents/carers who attended the summer session:
“Great- especially the music session”
“This was very good for the young people. Would like to come again. Good job.”
“My children loved it. I think the music session was brilliant. The pottery went down well too.”
