Havering picked up medals at the London Youth Games para swimming event at Beckenham.

Rebecca O’Rourke won gold in the 50m backstroke, while Caroline Napier took silver in the 50m freestyle and Rheanna Oberius claimed bronze in th 25m backstroke.

Napier, O’Rourke, Adeoluwa Oladiyun and Georgia Noble won girls’ relay bronze, as Lewis McCormack, Harry Wagohorn, Napier and O’Rourke added another bronze in the mixed relay.

Lynette Dyer managed the team with Julie Russell and Danny Gray and said: “I’d like to pay tribute to all the children for their fantastic efforts and other managers for their support. It’s been an honour for me to be part of this wonderful team.”

James Brindley and Max Parrott were also in the squad, which included year six to 13 students from Sanders, Frances Bardsley, Dycorts, Nelmes and La Salette who train regularly at Havering Dolphins SC.
